What is being said about our events
Sable Events and Bear Howard are gaining a reputation as one of the better gravel races of the southwest! Come join us and see what you have been missing!
“The Bear Howard 100 is an awesome race through the best gravel roads in Northern Arizona. The course has some super fast rolling parts along with some steeper decisive climbs and a fun section for single track that leads to very tactical racing. The race is always stacked with good competition and its always a great day on the bike.” - Isaac Cole
“Will definitely be back again this year, and the next that’s for sure! One of the best Gravel routes through Arizona landscape” - Benderpoel
“I have been racing Bear Howard for the last 3 years and it has been my favorite gravel race I have attended. Although the 100 is one of the hardest gravel races I have done, and while the course has won on a couple occasions, I always come back for more. I have always thought Flagstaff gravel roads to be some of the best I have ridden and am grateful to have this event to show them off!” - Keegan Field
“If you are looking for an event with great gravel roads, beautiful scenery, cool northern AZ riding weather in August, a little bit of everything, awesome double track, fast single track and some tough hills to conquer? Choose the 100 mile event, it has it all! I have done several gravel races over the last 12 years and this is on the list I will not miss.
If you want the same experience without the single track and few less miles, choose the 60. A very fast and competitive field of riders. This distance is made up of gravel and paved roads. The distance is a little easier to digest if you lack training for the 100. Whatever you are into, do Bear Howard, you wont be disappointed.” Terry Schmidtknecht
I have been doing the Bear Howard since the 2nd annual kick off and I can tell you that I recommend only gotten more organized, more competitive, and it still amazes me how hard it is. It has been very cool to see the growth of this race, and even amidst the growth of these events, Dustin’s commitment to preserving the course, the event area, and relationships of the racers is what brings me back year in and year out. I highly recommend giving these events a go. Excited to see these events blossom in 2025- Executive Director of FLRYS Quinn Travis
